Key Notes
1. You’ll usually need 2 dips for rich colour; a 3rd may be needed depending on how thin your Base Gel application is.
2. CMP Dip System is a great alternative to Gel Polish and Acrylic.
3. For the highest shine, finish with CMP UV/LED Gloss Top Coat. You MUST apply and cure CMP UV/LED Base Coat first before any UV/LED Top Coat over Dip.
4. CMP Dip System Top Coat (Bottle 3) is part of the process for strength, but it is not recommended as the final shine coat (can look orange-peel).
5. Some techs achieve a high shine by applying 3 quick coats of CMP Dip Top Coat without waiting in between, but drying time is long.
6. Best as a natural nail overlay. If used with tips for enhancements, keep them short and build a proper apex to protect the natural nail.
Hygiene: PICS (Protect • Inspect • Cleanse • Sanitise)
PROTECT – Keep powders clean and uncontaminated. Follow hygiene steps so clients’ hands stay ~99% germ-free.
INSPECT – Check hands for contraindications (including under nails). If present, pause service or skip affected finger; dispose of any powder used to avoid contamination.
CLEANSE – Have the client wash hands thoroughly and dry well (provide a scrub brush if needed).
SANITISE – Apply hand sanitiser after washing and keep hands on the table to avoid recontamination.
Note: You may spoon powder onto nails instead of dipping if you prefer. This is personal preference provided PICS hygiene is followed.
Care & Safety
1. Brush Saver (Bottle 4): Swap any clogged or splayed brush with the Brush Saver brush to restore it quickly.
2. Clean Dip Base & Top Coat bottle necks after each client with paper towel and acetone to prevent lids sealing shut. If stuck, soak bottle in warm water and gently open.
3. Dip liquids are strong adhesives: keep out of reach of children, do not inhale, and avoid skin contact.
Dip System Application Instructions
1. Prep & Sanitise: Inspect nails for contraindications and cleanliness. Client washes hands thoroughly, then apply hand sanitiser.
2. Prep Nails: Shape free edge, push back cuticles, dehydrate with CMP Cleanser Plus or CMP Nail Prep, and (optionally) apply CMP Primer.
3. Optional Tips: If adding length, apply nail tips now.
4. First Dip (Clear): Apply a thin coat of Dip System Base Coat (1) to entire nail. Dip into Clear powder. Allow Base to dry, then brush off excess powder with a soft dust brush.
5. Colour Dips: Reapply Base (1) and dip into Coloured powder. Brush off excess after it dries. Repeat until desired thickness and coverage are reached (typically 2 colour dips).
6. Activate: Apply Dip System Activator (2) to the entire nail to set and seal. Allow to dry (quick).
7. Dip Top Coat Layer: Apply a very thin layer of Dip System Top Coat (3) and allow to dry completely (a couple of minutes).
8. Re-Activate: Apply Activator (2) again to help set the Top Coat.
9. Cleanse: Once dry, wipe entire nails with CMP Cleanser Plus/Alcohol to remove all traces of Activator. Skipping this step can cause issues with the finish.
10. Refine (If Needed): Finish file any nails and smooth cuticle area. Remove all dust.
11. Choose Your Finish:
a) Apply Gel Polish Top Coat – Recommended: Apply a thin CMP UV/LED Base Coat and cure, then CMP Gloss Top Coat and cure. Let cool; apply cuticle oil.
b) Apply Gel Polish Colour – Recommended: If you dipped in Clear, apply CMP UV/LED Base Coat and cure. Apply CMP Gel Polish colour (curing each coat), then Gloss Top Coat and cure. Let cool; apply cuticle oil.
c) Buff to a High Shine: Apply another thin coat of Dip Top Coat (3) and allow to dry fully. Lightly file back, then buff to a high shine with CMP 300/3000 High Shine Buffer. (Less glossy than UV Top Coat.)
d) Triple Dip Top Coat: Apply 3 quick coats of CMP Dip Top Coat one after another without waiting in between; results can be shiny, but drying is lengthy (can add 10+ minutes).
Removal Instructions
We recommend filing off Dip for speed. Dip will soak off in acetone, but thick applications take longer.
Complete Removal by Filing
1. File off the majority of product with a 100/150 grit file or eFile. Do not file the natural nail.
2. Use a 180 grit file to gently remove product closer to the natural nail.
3. Use a 240 grit file or buffer to remove the last traces and/or blend remaining product into the natural nail.
4. Finish with a CMP High Shine buffer.
Complete Removal by Filing & Soaking
1. File off the bulk with a 100/150 grit file or eFile. Do not file the natural nail. If you applied a Clear Dip first, file until all colour is removed.
2. Soak the remaining product in acetone. Use hot water beneath the bowl or a heat pack to speed up. After ~5 minutes, gently scrape softened product with a Gel Polish Remover Tool. Repeat until removed—do not force; soak longer if needed.
3. Finish with a CMP High Shine buffer.
Refill / Colour Change
1. If you applied a Clear Dip first, file until all colour is removed without touching the natural nail. Remove dust and restart from Step 1 of Application.
Refill / Same Colour
1. File down the Top Coat. Start from Step 1 of Application, applying product only to the regrowth area.
